Used to

As a nerd, I was always used to stay engaged with my academic books.

Or

As a nerd, I have always been engaged with my academic books.

Or

As a nerd, I used to stay engaged with my academic books.

The first sentence does not look grammatically correct to me. Am I right? Which of these sentences is fully correct?
