Used to

We don't think we have do do that.

If 'used to' were to be applied to the sentence above, what would be the sentence like? Which would be more likely among the two below?

We didn't use to think we had to do that.
We used to think we didn't have to do that.

I hear that 'X think that Y don't/isn't..' has to be 'X don't think that Y do/is...'

So it is not necessarily so?
