Used / paly the guitar

Can I say,

(a) He used the guitar to play songs.



(b) One of them played the guitar and the others sang the songs.



(c) He played the guitar to sing songs. The songs were good to hear



(d) They sang a few beautiful songs with a guitar.

He played the guitar and sang. (songs is redundant really)

The songs were good to hear. (you can say this only if you're pleased that you heard the songs because possibly they reminded you of something nice. The sentence is not about whether or not the songs were actually good or bad).
