I understand that a genitive preceding the adjective "beloved' totally makes sense. But if I just use the word as a standalone adjective without any genitive at all, will it still indicate the meaning of someone's beloved thing?
Top answer
a beloved normally refers to a person who is loved. Not to a thing. eg Mary is my beloved.
