Use simple past in this sentence?

My package supposed to come to my friend's house.

If I ask him about yesterday, I'm guessing I have to use simple past "did you recieve any packages yesterday"

beacuse the time is mentioned.

But do I use simple past if I ask about today? Beacuse after all today is continous time

Should be did you receive anything today or have you received anything today?
