Use pretend with past perfect tense?

Hi all,

I wonder how to use "pretend to do" in conjunction with the past perfect tense in case I want to say
he pretends to have not committed that crime.

maybe I can only use a clause for such a structure?
as in
he pretends that he has not got the information.

Thanks in advance

There is no past perfect there.

He pretended that he hadn't committed the crime. -- that has past perfect.

Thank you. But for the second sentence, why is he had not instead of he has not?

Oh, Okay, sorry, my title was misleading. When I say past perfect tense in the title, I mean, present perfect tense. Sorry guys Emotion: smile
