Use present or past participle

1) He was sitting in an armchair reading a magazine.

2) Working in the company for many years, he knew everyone and everything.

3) The cup with milk laid on the table. (I'm particular confused about this sentence.)

4) Born into a rich family, she got everything she wished for.

5) Parted each other for ages, they had a lot to talk about. (This participle is the result of my finite vocabulary)

Please help ma correct the above sentence. That's the best I could do.

Thanks.
