use of: wouldn't/shouldn't

I am confused by these words. They mean "would not" and "should not" correct?

So does this following sentence make sense? "Shouldn't you go walk the dog?"

Well, that would be "Should not you go walk the dog"? That sounds wrong to me...

The question is formed in two ways:

Shouldn't you walk...?
Should you not walk...?


Nevertheless, the uncontracted form of shouldn't is should not.
