The situation with these words is not as neatly symmetrical as we might hope.

Verb............Adjective of State ... Past participle (for the passive)........
open ...............open ................... opened

We will open the shop at 9 am.
We will close the shop at 6 pm.

The shop will be open from 9 am to 6 pm. (People can enter the shop during this time period.)
(It will be open at 9 am, at 10, at 11, ... at 5 pm, ....)
The shop will be closed from 6 pm to 9 am. (People cannot enter the shop during this time period.)
(It will be closed at 6 pm, at 7, at 8, ... at 8 am, ....)

The shop will be opened at 9 am. (Somebody will open it at that time.)
The shop will be closed at 6 pm. (Somebody will close it at that time.)
