Use of 'Whose': Please Delete the Clone Anonymous Post

Hello, I have the following sentence in my essay and I am not sure if my use of the word, 'whose', is correct. If someone could please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

"Are words merely a linguistic tool, whose power is in the hand of its bearer, or do words have innate power in and of themselves?"

P.S. I think I may also have accidentally made a similar post anonymously. Please disregard and/or delete.
