Use of verb form with does in a question

I am slightly confused and need some help in the use of verb form does in questions? For example which one is correct below:

What does that boy eat ?

What does that boy eats?

The boy is singular hence the verb eat should also be singular which is 'eats' however the second sentence doesn't sound right to me?

Hi, The auxiliary verb receives the appropriate inflection, and is always followed by the bare infinitive form of the main verb. eg What does that boy eat? eg What do those boys eat?

Clive,

Thanks for the answer. Can you give some examples to explain what you mentioned including examples of auxiliary verb, bare infinitive verb.

One of the auxiliary verbs is "do."

The "bare infinitive" is the word that is in the dictionary: run, eat, go, bring, send, know, etc.

Does he run?

Did he eat?

Do I know?

An auxiliary verb for things that happen in the future is "will."

Will he run?

Will you eat?

Will we go?

Here are some other auxiliary verbs:
