Use of "used to" in this sentence

Hi,

I am writing an email and I want to use "used to" in this context.

"I closed some defects as the options that used to be present in earlier versions don’t exist in this version"

Is this sentence correct?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Harry

I don't think that's a particularly good place for 'used to'. I closed some defects, so the options that were present in earlier versions don’t exist in this version. I used to be a pretty good dancer, but I hardly set foot on a dance floor anymore.
