Use of the word respectively

Ok so basically I'm writing a paper about an assessment I did. I want to say, "I didn't assess red, orange, yellow, or green. I could have assessed them, respectively, by asking the following questions: Are you red? Are you orange? Are you yellow? Are you green?" Does this make sense? Did I put respectively in the correct place?
