Use of the word "Domestic"

Hi

Is the use of the word domestic natural here?

domestic = maids, peons, sweepers, etc

  1. A - Do you have a domestic at home? B - Yes, but these days, he's on leave.
  2. There are five domestics at our office.
  3. It was surprising to note that there wasn't a single domestic at the office the other day.

This is not a word that I have heard or read in the UK. Most people would not have heard of it.

What word should I use (collective noun, I think) for such staff at any office and/or bank? Maids + sweepers + etc

It was surprising to note that not a single _________________ was present at the office that day.
