Use of the word "capacities"

Is it appropriate to use the word "capacities", e.g. implementation and fiduciary capacities? I cringe whenever I see it used. Thanks.

Hi,

I assume you are referring to the meaning of capacity as 'a position or function'.

eg In his capacity as a sales manager, . . .

eg In his capacity as a cab driver, . . .

There's no reason why we shouldn't speak of 'capacities'.

Nor is there any reason that one person can't have more than one capacity.

Best wishes, Clive
