Use of the verb "present"

If a company name is "Fletcher Williams & Associates" and the company is presenting something to the public, is the proper sentence "Fletcher Williams & Associates presents this amazing new technology." or "Fletcher Williams & Associates present this amazing new technology."

If your reply is "present" (singular), why is this different that if the company name were "Fletcher Williams Group" ? (In which case I think we'd use "presents".)
