Use of the Progressive

In my sense, progressive enphasize the activity or situation in many different ways.

"I am enjoying the seaside"(Enphasize this paticular holiday) "I am living in Tokyo"(Enphasize this particular moment so the speaker is Temporary resident) "The train is stopping"(Enphasize the activity "stop" so the meaning of the sentence is "The train began slowing down to stop.")

However, there are numbers of verbs which are nomally imcompatible with the progrresive. For example Be, Know, Love, Feel and so much more.  But I could hear or see progressive with those verbs, particularly in posts of facebook and tweets of twitter from young American. (I'm huge fan of American sports so... ) like "I'm lovin it", "I'm feeling good"

Does that mean the progressive has increased in frequency enough so we don't need to care much about chosing progressive or simple tense?

My English textbook says " 'He is being ill ' is wrong." But I get sense of it and I don't get why it is odd. Like this sentence, any anti-progressive  somehow makes sense of enphasize the activity for me, and it is getting difficult to distinguish.

What do you think?  Is my understanding right? If not, can you correct the mistake?  I am going to write a paper about the progressive, so I need your help. Thank you.

I think the progressive is the most illogical tense of English it is really difficult to find where the progressive puts enphasis on. Well that's why I selected the progressive as the subject of the paper...
