Use of the article 'the'.

Is this sentence correct?

"The lab manual is for the exclusive use of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore students."

I am not sure if I should use 'the' before 'university'. Also, I was inclined to write the following:

The lab manual is for the exclusive use of students of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.

Which of the above-mentioned sentences is correct. Can you suggest any better sentence that conveys the same point.

Top answer

Yes, the sentence is correct, although a little difficult to understand in that word sequence. Yes, “the” was needed as the article for “students”. Your inclination to write it in the second sequence was correct.
