Use of "the" article

Is it correct to say "I was busy all the day/week/month"?

I actually intend to convey that I was busy the last week/month.(usually say I was busy last week), but would like to get my doubt clarified.

Thanks!

  • Yes.

  • Of course context would be necessary if you mean any day/week/month other than the one most recently past.
  • If you mean the present one, you could use the continuous present perfect: I have been busy all the/this month.

Hi Avangi,

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking of an example other than the one most recently past and the following sentence popped in my head:

"I was busy all the time during the second week of January because of the exams and had to postpone my aerobics sessions to the first week of February".

Are there any better ways of phrasing the sentence?

Once again,
