use of the adjective "SEDUCTIVE"

Recently in one of India's largest circulated English daily a column writer wrote this:
A scary sci-fi scenario. And one which could have its roots in a long-ago Garden where a seductive serpent offered Eve an Apple with a capital ‘A’.

My question is..isn't the use of the word SEDUCTIVE to describe a snake is wrong especially in the context of Adam and Eve where we clearly know the serpent actually deceived..

If you are talking about the original sentence, both 'deceiving' and 'seductive' would work, though they have different meanings.. 'Diplomatic' would be completely wrong there.
