Is the use of swimmingly natural in these sentences?

Her emails read swimmingly.

The novel reads swimmingly.

I guess the vanilla options would be:

"well"

"very well"

"extremely well"

Beyond this, I think the answer (if there is one) depends on exactly what shade of meaning you're aiming for.

If your intention is to connote an easy style of writing that carries one away, I think 'swimmingly' is a good choice in both instances. But, if you're intention is to describe merely smooth or effective writing, I would probably go for 'smoothly' or 'well'.
