Use of 'surety'

Hi

Is the use of surety OK here? Any other suggestion please?

  1. We need written surety that police won't harass it again on this matter.
  2. Until the government gives us surety that these drugs are safe, we won't sell them.
  3. What kind of surety do you want?

I don't very often hear surety used like this. Instead I hear assurance . surety might be OK in #3, since there is no real context given.
