Use of 'sporting'

Hi

Can we use the adjective sporting with a person? Are these sentences natural English?

  1. James was a very sporting boss, always willing to help.
  2. She has a very sporting nature. She won't say no if you ask her a favor.

Thanks,

Tom

No. sporting really just means 'interested in or connected with sport'. But there is an idiom be a good sport, meaning someone is nice even in a situation where they lose in some way.
