Use of some with singular nouns

There has been a lot of confusion while using some with singular nouns

For example

some girl on the next block.I know that its correct but when is some used wit singular nouns

This is used when there is a question about the identity of the singular noun, for example:


Some girl on the next block called me a creep. (You don't know who this girl is. All you know is that she lives on the next block.)

Some boy on the next block threw a rock at me. (You don't know who this boy is. All you know is that he lives on the next block.)
