Use of simple present and present progressive

Hi,

Do these sentences convey different meanings? Would appreciate it if you could explain your answer a bit.

1. Even though the numbers are correct, I am excluding them from average calculation as they bias the average.

2. Even though the numbers are correct, I am excluding them from average calculations as they are biasing the average.

Thanks,

MG.
