Use of 'should have been'?

This product is missing some features which should have been there.

Is my sentence correct?

Can some one explain me the usage of should have been?

It sounds a little redundant.

This product does not have some essential features.

I should have been in time for the class; I missed some important lessons.

I should have been a little more careful in my speech. I think some were hurt by my references to religion.
