Use of "Rite of Passage"

Hi

Could you please tell me if I have used rite of passage naturally in these sentences?

  1. Let's make it a rite-of-passage trip of our lives.
  2. The story dealt with his birth, marriage and other rites of passages.

A - My marriage was anything but a rite of passage in my life.

B - What do you mean?

A- I don't view it as an important event of my life, sorry.

Thanks,

Tom
