Use of 'remorse' and 'regret' in spoken English

Hi

Could you please tell me how these two words (remorse and regret) would sound to you in everyday English? Do these phrases sound OK to you?

  • expressed remorse (over the handling of the matter)
  • filled with remorse (for refusing to talk to his dying mother)
  • expressed regret (over the mishandling of the issue)

Thanks,

Tom
