Use of 'refrain'

Hi

Is this sentence fully natural? Any suggestions please?

(To a guest who is constantly making sarcastic remarks...)

Please refrain from making remarks that can be taken two ways.

Thanks,

Tom

There's nothing wrong with the grammar, but I don't think it gets the message across. I think you want something that says "Don't be so sarcastic" but isn't so direct and rude, and I'm stumped for the right words. It depends on the setting and on the relative social statuses of the speaker and listener.
