use of question mark

When using the word "would" to begin a sentence, is a question mark always the correct punctuation, or can a period be used if the sentence is intended as a statement and not a question?

Hi, Please provide an example of a 'would' sentence that you think might be ended with a period. Such a thing is possible, but can you do it? In most cases, it would be a question mark.
