Use of Present Simple

Hi!

A shortie today:

Is the following sentence correct: "if you spill even something as innocuous as water on this fabric, it will stain", or should it be 'it stains' instead?

Thanks in advance!

  • "it will stain" is fine and completely idiomatic, though "it stains" is not really wrong.
