Use of present perfect

Hi. I think we can use a present perfect tense to talk about someone having played for or attended a certain institution, like having played for the Lakers or having attended a certain school, shortly after his/her stop playing or leaving there. Are these correct?

He has attended our school for the past three years. He performed excellently in all his academic subjects.

Or,

He has played for our team for the past three years. He performed wonderfully during the time he was with us.
