Dear Sir,

My daughter is 11yrs and she as well as me for that mater have a confusion. Here are 2 sentences. Please let me know which one is gramatically correct.

He comes from a poor family.

He comes of a poor family.

My daughter is 11yrs and she as well as me for that mater have a confusion. Here are 2 sentences. Please let me know which one is gramatically correct.

He comes from a poor family.

He comes of a poor family.

Both are correct. However, #2 is uncommon today. It sounds quite old-fashioned, and like it is something in a book.
