Use of Participle

#1 We were all happy at Ranbir Kapoor being awarded.

#2 Hearing the loud sound, the boy woke up.

We use present participle when an action is going on or incomplete or imperfect.

#3 Having rested for a for a while, we continued our journey.

When action is already completed in past, we use perfect participle.

But I am confused about #1. Here we should use either past participle (......Ranbir Kapoor been awarded) or perfect participle (............Ranbir Kapoor having been awarded) as action of giving award is already completed, then we were all happy.

Thank you

taruns1008 I am confused about #1. Ranbir Kapoor having been awarded) as action of giving award is already completed, then we were all happy. You can use either, but 'award' is a transitive verb: it requires an object.
