Use of 'one' and 'other' +more questions

Hello! I have a few questions to ask.

1. The thing is there are two levels from which you can see Toronto in the CN Tower. The one level has windows, so I wasn't scared at all. But the other which is just below the latter has no windows, only bars.

Is the use of 'one' correct in the second sentence?

2. Frankly speaking, I simply didn't have enough courage to climb up on those bars - even if my position had been such that my back would have been facing the city.

Is the use of the imperative mood ok here?

3. I was going to be taking classes at an English school for two weeks and then spending the remainder of the time with my Dad.

Is this sentence ok?

Thanks a lot for your help!
