Use of never in Present perfect

I have a couple of sentences (both are similar to me in context) but with 2 different answers

First sentence:

Sue is riding a horse. She doesn't look very confident or comfortable.

Answer:

(She has never ridden a horse before)

Second sentence:

Ben is playing tennis for the first time. He's a complete beginner.

Answer:

(He hasn't played tennis before)

The thing is that in the first sentence my answer was:

She hasn't ridden a horse before

And it looks like the only answer is the first one but makes me wonder why the second sentence with a similar structure it's possible to use "has not" and also "has never".

Is there any difference?

Thank you
