Use of meltdown

Hi

Is the use of meltdown natural here?

Boss was already very angry, but he had a meltdown when he realized that his file was missing too.

Thanks,

Tom

Yes, quite natural, but I would begin the sentence with "The boss" or "Our boss" rather than just "boss". Melting down, Dammit

Mr. Tombut he had a meltdown

My niece uses it when her 2-year-old throws a temper tantrum. I've heard "meltdown" more with kids than adults.
