Use of mellifluous
Hi
Would you say that the use of mellifluous is common in everyday English? Would it be understood by most native speakers walking down the street?
He had a deep mellifluous voice.

I don't think it would be understood by most native speakers, but it's hard to say. I'm sure a fair number would understand it, though only a minority would use it. It's not exactly a rare word.
