Use of "lousy"

Hi

Could you please tell me if "lousy" is a low-register word? Would it not sound OK in educated conversation?

I had such a lousy weekend.

Isn't "low-register" a bit discriminatory word in the phrase above?

In my opinion, all language registers are so equal as all words are.

The usage of the word can be non-standard in some registers, though.
