Use of 'lose him'

Hi

Is the use of lose him natural in this context?

Man (in his car) notices his friend following him...tells his driver

Frank behind us in a white car. Lose him fast. (=Drive so fast that he loses us.)

And/or this.

OK, we've lost him.

Thanks,

Tom
