Use of Intoxication

Hi

Could you please tell me how to say these sentences in natural English? [These are literal translations from my own language and are bound to sound odd, I assume. Sorry!]

When finally his intoxication dissipated, he was able to tell us the whole story of his unfortunate journey.
This medicine helps kill intoxication. Give it to him if you want him sober quickly.
How come the intoxication just vanished in a flash? It shows that he'd only been putting it on and was never really drunk.

Thanks,

Tom
