Hi
Is the use of the expression 'in the sticks' natural here?
In the sticks = in a remote area
She's bought a new house somewhere in the sticks.
Thanks,
Tom

Mr. TomShe's bought a new house somewhere in the sticks.
In American English, is is a bit condescending. The further away from the city you live, the cheaper the houses are. So it is snotty to say "She lives out in the sticks."
