Use of If with past or not?

Sentence: It would be advantageous if you brought/bring that feature on your software platform for your customers.

Question: Which usage is correct to use here, brought or bring?

The pattern is: If + simple past, would + base form of the verb or Would + base form (of a verb) + if + simple past

Yes. Thanks for answering. Got confused because did not find the usage of that word in the past form in Google books.

Personally, I would say this as follows:

It would be advantageous if you were to bring that feature to your software platform.

eg It would be advantageous for your customers if you added that feature to your software platform.

That's a useful general guide for beginners, but there are many situations in which this 'rule' is not followed.

I think you are talking about these situations, but I don't know it for sure.

When the if part is in simple past tense, we could have, in the result clause:
a). would/might/could/should + base form of a verb (If you touched her phone, she would get angry.
