Use of "I" in academic writing
Hi,
This is intended for an academic paper. Can you please tell me which is correct?
1) As a citizen and a scientist we are convinced that…
2) As citizens and scientists we are convinced that…
3) As a citizen and a scientist I am convinced that…
As it is not very acceptable to use the first person in academic writing I used the first option.
But then I wondered if it would be grammatically correct to use the “we”?
