use of "high time"

Hello everyone

I am an English language tutor. Please help me with the use of the idiom "high time".
Which of the following sentences is correct? :

It's high time for the authorities to come to our rescue.
OR
It's high time that the authorities came to our rescue.
OR
It's high time the authorities came to our rescue.

I am a little confused between these, kindly help me.

Thanks

Hi Kaaya All three of your sentences are correct. Sentences 2 and 3 are basically exactly the same because the word "that" in sentence 2 is optional. Sentences 2 and 3 use the subjunctive ("came").
