Use of "Have Had"

Hello everyone,
Of late I have been working on improving my English language speaking and writing skills. I have come across a number of sentences which use "Have Had" like, "I have had my dinner", "He has had his kidney removed". So my question is that in what cases do we use "Have Had" together? is there any verb tense associated with it? I just don't get the criterion of this?
Waiting for replies!
Thank you
