Hi,

Please help me with the use of have and had.

If you are talking about the past, use Simple Past tense.

Clive,

While I agree that "demonstrated a record" is an unfortunate construction, it's extremely common, particularly in the business world, and isn't remarkable in, say, a passage from a resume, which is what this seems to be.

Hi,

But why use an unfortunate construction if you don't have to, particularly in a resume?

Because using really stupid buzzwords like "demonstrated a record", "revolutionized the paradigm", "raised the bar", "went the extra mile", "pushed the envelope", "increased flexibility", etc. is a good way to signal to HR that you know how to navigate the corporate BS machine.

Hi,

Welcome to cliche world.

I guess each person should do what they think will work best for them.
