Use of Had

Is it wrong if I use tweeted instead of had tweeted. If yes then please explain.

"Soon after she encountered the experience while proceeding to New Delhi, the Thoothukudi MP had tweeted."

Use "tweeted" unless there is a reason to use "had tweeted". The MP would have to have tweeted before some other event in the narrative.
