Top answer

Usually spelled 'gonna', it is the orthographic representation of a common pronunciation of 'going to' in informal conversation. It is not (yet) a recognized contraction like 'don't' or 'let's', and so should be reserved only for the written representation of character dialogue, as in a play, a novel or a movie script.
