Use of "give you up"

Hi,

In one of his songs, Eminem admitted that he "will neve give his daughter up for nothing".

I know all too well what he intended to say, but I wonder if his "grammatical" sentence might be misconstrued as "I may consider giving up my daughter only if there's something to give her up for - for nothing I won't give her up !"

Thanks!
